Subject: Need Your Opinion

I'm new to this forum i don't know how i got here but i'm glad i did, I checked most of the schematics, parts, & Files, In my opinion this is to much of a work, Why we have to go true all this, making PC Board, Getting parts, Assembling, Program a pic when there is a board in a market available for $35 that is professionally built and uses surface mount and works great, Are this designs working much better? Please let me know.
