Subject: Nossas garotas no Miss Mundo: Marluce Manvailler Rocha, 4a. colocada no Miss Mundo 1966


O sucesso das gêmeas Ridzi em 1966, gerou muitas expectativas em torno de Ana Cristina no Miss Universo, àquela altura o concurso internacional dono de todas as atenções da mídia brasileira.

Ana Cristina - tal como Stael Abelha - não chegou entre as semifinalistas no Miss Universo, algo impensável à época para uma Miss Brasil.

O maior sucesso internacional de 1966 ficou por conta de Marluce Rocha, a representante de Mato Grosso que chegou em 2o. lugar no Miss Brasil daquele ano.

A morena foi a Londres e chegou em 4o. lugar, vencido pela bela indiana Reita Faria. Anteriormente a Marluce, a sergipana Maria Isabel de Avelar Elias também chegou em 4o.lugar no Miss Mundo 1964. Estes foram os melhores resultados das brasileiras nos anos 60 em Londres.

Quanto ao Miss Beleza Internacional, naquele ano não foi realizado.
