Here is information from Al Grossberg regarding the upcoming Alumni Weekend

Here is information we have about the upcoming 10th Anniversary Retiree and Alumni Weekend at the Field Band. We have been told reservation forms for events will soon be online at the Field Band website. You should check their site at:

Friday 22 August:
.
0830 - 1100: Rehearsal for the Sunday evening concert. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided.

1200: Golf Tournament. Lunch begins at 1200, check in is 1300 and golfing begins with a shot-gun start at 1330. Cost is $50 per person. Checks should be made out to The United States Army Field Band Social Committee, ATTN: Staff Sergeant Matt Nelson. He can be reached at 410-707-8024 if anyone has further questions.

1200: Bowling Tournament. Starts with lunch at Devers Hall, followed by bowling. Cost is $15 per person which includes 3 games, shoes, lunch, and prizes. Raffle tickets will be sold for prizes. Saturday 23 August:

0830: Fun Run. Assemble in the parking lot of the old Devers Hall (Old Officers Club) at 0815. No cost. The course is the track around the golf course, and there will be refreshments. Please email or call MSG Sue Kelley for reservations at 410-729-1843 or 77cmugrad@earthlink.net

1200 - 1600: Picnic. At Area 3, Burba Park on Ft. Meade. It will be a pig roast, there will also be hot dogs, vegetarian fare, beer, wine, iced tea, lemonade. If anyone wishes to bring a dessert to share that would be great. Please email or call MSG Sue Kelley for reservations at

Sunday 24 August:

1000: Retiree and Alumni Association Breakfast. In the basement day room at the new Devers Hall. Please RSVP to Joe Greco via email or phone at 410-761-0715 or
joeyg9@msn.com As usual, we look forward to seeing old friends at this once a year get-together. Elaine Greco and her assistants will make sure we don't go away hungry...

1900: Alumni Concert. On the concrete slab at the intersection of Mapes and Cooper Roads, where the old Devers Hall was located. Your once a year opportunity to again be a member of the United States Army Field Band.

One more note: The Field Band Social Committee will be selling fleeces which are very cool. They come in black, are the anorack style with a zipper, and have the Field Band logo. Cost is $45. One will be on display at the picnic and they will be taking orders there.

We hope to see many of you at the Weekend this year - it's the 10th Anniversary Weekend, a milestone. See you there!
