Subject: Meeting Minutes January 13, 2002

Meeting called to order @ 9:00P.M. EST

Old Business was forgone and a special meeting was called to discuss Milwaukee.

States represented: PA, MI, NY, VA, NV, WA, CO, and WI.

Emails need to go out before the meeting on January 14. It was noted that grammar/spelling should be checked w/ emails. Remain polite, No hurling insults. Denise suggested that sample letters be posted on the ABBA website.

Denise will post to all the Yahoo Clubs and the AAPBA. Denise has a Bull Terrier contact she will contact as well. Maureen will post to the American BullDog board.

It was reported that the ordinance passed the Public Safety Committee 3-2 and would be then brought before the Legislative Committee. The ordinance includes 5 breeds
Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Miniature Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, American Pit Bull Terrier and the Rottweiler. The ordinance possibly was brought on by an attack by two Rottweilers on a 2 year old girl. A mail carrier was reportedly attacked by a pit bull as well.
The local Humane Society has spoken against Breed Specific Legislation. The ADOA/UKC were represented at the first meeting.

A protest was suggested as well contacting the local newspaper and radio station. The Milwaukee Journal is the local paper. TV Stations- WPXE-TV (Channel 55), WISN-TV (Channel 12) and WITI-TV (Channel 6). Radio Station- www.wkti.com WOKY. Maureen volunteered to contact the newspaper. OHIO- Also do not forget to send emails/faxes to Ohio. They also will be meeting on January 16th.

Brags- Lora Bauer reported that Rita Tyler picked up her MX title in agility this weekend in Indiana.
