Old Business:

- Special Meeting - Nothing is planned.

-BSL Updates -

NE - BelleVue, NB - Maureen wrote an e-mail to the Mayor offering him ABBA help. She told him that the information they had received from Dr. Hatcher was inaccurate. Dorothy has not been able to get a hold of, Jan Calame, the ADOA representative in that area. She said, Bellevue is a suburb of Omaha. Emily sent the mayor several links to information on generic dangerous dog law. She also found there was a Nebraska Kennel Club. She will e-mail again and ask if there is a contact for legislative issues in NE. Denise will try to find the city attorney's e-mail address to post. Denise will look into UKC involvement. Peggy suggested writing to Bellevue stating that it has come to our attention that they are considering BSL. List the reasons why it has been proven not to work. Put in a bid enforcing strong dangerous dog laws
and also hold responsible irresponsible owners.

ND - Minot - no report

OH - Melanie will update with a press release.

PA - AKC is working on Philadelphia. PA has a no BSL law.

TN - Nashville - no report

WI - Denise reports Pam of the Dog Foundation of Wisconsin suggested we try to focus on dog owners in the Milwaukee area. Denise sent an e-mail to many owners of different breeds and also posted on a couple of the younger MOSH message boards, as well, for the Milwaukee area. DFW will contacting ADOA. ABBA participants are asked to contact anyone in the Milwaukee. Owners in that area are needed to contact the council. The local AKC club is involved. The Finance Committee did not pass the measure to finance this ordinance, but it could still go to the council. Pam asks for people to write.

Peta License Plates - Maureen found that donation of this government money to PETA could present legal issues.

Federal - Contact your senators regarding the Puppy Protection Act. The senate will be back in session January 23rd.

WHS Spay/Neuter Mobile Clinic Fund Raiser - Noel finished her auction of two certificates for Applebees. Maureen e-mailed her the address to which the money should be sent. If you cannot auction you can send a donation. E-mail Maureen and for the WHS address and please mention ABBA affiliation when sending the funds to WHS. Denise will start a Message Board from which items may be auctioned and post the links on the ABBA Board.
