Subject: What does Judaism Mean to Christians?

Recently, our Jewish brethren celebrated Yom Kippur...the Day of Atonement. The Torah teaches this as the day one purifies one's self before God and seeks atonement for all the sins committed up to that day.

Unlike our brethren, we have the joy of being able to atone every single day through Christ. But what of the other customs still practiced in Judaism that we as Christians do not readily observe?

Jesus said that he came not to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. Very little was changed in the NT regarding various laws: The law of the Sabbath, dietary laws, and Moses' laws of justice were all revised, but what of the others? Since we worship a Jewish Savior, are we not all still Jews..albeit ones who believe in Christ as the Messiah?

We in the West are particularly blessed not only in our knowledge of salvation through Him, but also in living in God's promise...the true land of milk and honey promised so long ago. Is it not our duty, then, to walk with Him not only as Christians, but as Jews...the Chosen People...as well? In reaping the benefit of that which God has provided, do we not owe Him a Yom Kippur EVERY DAY? Seems a small price to pay for what has been shed before us so that we may be blessed in His promise today.
