I don't hate America or any other country. In fact, i'm proud to be an American. I do realize, however, that this country is far from perfect in our dealings with other countries. The former USSR and the United States have treated other nations as pawns during the cold war (eg, afghanistan). We have even given support to those we now hunt for today (like osama bin laden, saadam, and the taliban). We see things in terms of how we can benefit. As for WW II, that will remain a very dark spot for the US and for the World. We let evil and prejudice blind us. The United States itself is guilty of crimes against humanity. Our illegal confinement of japanese american, and even some german and italian americans is outrageous, and should never be excused. The atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki is a great tragedy and should never have happened. Though both cities had some military importance, there were also thousands of civilians. 66,000 died from the Hiroshima blast, and 39,000 died from Nagasaki (luckily by God's grace we missed the mark a little, else more would have died). We are so concerned that so called rogue nations will want to use nukes, but let us keep in mind that we are the only nation insane enough to use such weapons on civilians...this is just cowardly. But i guess common sense and humanity gets lost in war. Hopefully we will see some peace and harmony in our lifetime.
