Subject: Bad cops, Ferals and White Trash

Just listened to a discussion before going on about the calibre of people we have in Oz presently. The listeners responses were diverse,
We graciously open our shores to all and sundry, boat people, people from war torn countries, anyone who needs refuge and the country is at it's worst ever. We have racial violence, Lebanese rioting in the streets in NSW. We have Triads and an assortment of gangs. We have our young people's minds warped by drugs and alcohol. This is a real problem as brain damage is usually irreversible so what hope do we have in the future if they are already brain damaged now. Drugs are a huge problem not only in Oz but over the world. We have our top crime cop last week arrested for helping to import huge quantities of drugs into this country. We have cops who sell on drugs they seize when making arrests. This is never going to stop because it's just too lucrative.
When I came to Oz at the age of 15 this county was fairly calm and quiet. We had industrial strikes which usually resulted in a better deal fro the working man. Our neighbours were respectful and usually minded their own business. We used to go ice skating and discoing with the neighbour's teenagers and a great time was had by all, bearing in mind we were all classed as "New Australians" The kids would have a smoke or a drink but Heroin and LDS still hadn't taken a foot hold. Where did this all start to go wrong? Some of the questions being asked were, "Was it when we abandoned the white Australia policy? Is it just a sign of the times and what does the future now hold for Australia?"
If we are observing all of the rules and enjoy the culture what's the problem here? If and when we went out to a nightclub it wasn't to stab someone.
You never imagined you'd be date raped. usually you went out to meet some guys with your girlfriends and have a bit of fun. How do we rectify this problem? If the government and the cops can't where will we be in five or ten years time? It's a worry.
