Cat among the pigeons

I am about to throw the cat among the pigeons. Is the announcement by Tony Blair that any profits from his book will go to the British Legion a genuine decision (before, he claims, he wrte his book but not anounce until it was about to go on the market), an attempt at appeasement or guilt over his action (which is probably unlikely as he seems to believe that he and Dubya were instructed by God to go ahead with it) and therfore blood money? I've just wached an extract of an interview with him and although I know that there might be some amongst you who did favour him, he still makes me want to throw up and I still feel very strongly that he should be impeached for war crimes and for treason because he lied to Parliament and to the country. (and at the risk of inviting huge cannonades of diatribe against me, I think Gordon Brown should be alongside him as he was the one who was signing the cheques and who tactily gave his consent). As our teachers at school would have said, Discuss.
