OOh that rat story is scary. I saw a rat in Australia but only once and it was during a flood. It came up out of the stormwater drains and was literally a 'drowned rat'. It actually gave me the shivers. That long wet tail dragging behind it. I've only had mice in here and I'm relentless until they are all dead. My daughter is the one who screams and jumps up on the table. The mouse could probably get up there with her and she'd trample it to death.
They are quite horrible!
