Subject: A medical puzzle - rude but true (caution recommended to readers)

I have a close relative who is an operating theatre technician in a local hospital. A man came to the accident and emergency department with a problem that was causing him severe distress. He was a heroin addict. His circulatory system was badly damaged by long-term intravenous heroin use. The valves that control blood flow back into the body from his wullie had failed in the "closed" position, resulting in a permanent, painful and unwanted erection.

So, the scene is set, dear reader. The problem is apparent. But what was the solution?

A solution was indeed found. Can you guess what it was?

Nothing too rude please! This is an engineering, or plumbing problem.

BB
