Subject: I'm back

Hi people, I'm back from the depths of Yorkshire. BB, just how comfy is your caravan? The one we've just stayed in has to be one of the most uncomfortable we've had, and the most expensive. Paid extra for the little bit more luxury, yeah well!!!! We've had better. Apart from a friend's van down near Chichester, I think we will probably call it a day for caravanning. The van was very clean, the bedding was all provided, the oven was a good size and there was enough pots & pans, and a microwave, but the seating wasn't sufficient for creaky old bones, even with all the padding that we've got as they were basically big foam pads onto boards, and after a while the bum went very numb. Previous ones have had the where-with-all to make up another bed in the sitting room, which means a bit more padding, and we were a bit too close to the club house for old ears, but the same would have been true of anywhere on camp as it was only a small camp. Enough of the moans though, we did get to see some good places, including Whitby Abbey (shades of Bram Stoker there), Rievaulx Abbey (worth looking on the web for), Bemptom Cliffs where we saw PUFFINS and gannets, which are very pretty with their goldie coloured heads and blue eyes, and we went on a steam bus, which had been a steam flat bed lorry adn they had converted it into a bus. Went for a 25 minute trip around Whitby which was fun, waving at every one we passed and then ate our sarnies on the top of the cliffs whilst watching the fishing boats out on some rather rough water. Rather them tham me. It poured down with rain on the Thursday, hailstones, the lot. I'd chosen to stay behind for the morning whilst the men went to Scarborough, and very glad I was too. We went out in the afternoon though to Filey and then to an animal farm which was rather nice.

Anyway, must get on with cooking dinner as I have 2 hungry men to feed.

Gilly
