I did Rochester in the early 70's and a fresh wack a few years later, I can't say I thought scum was really realistic, well for rochester. The block was in 5 week increments[most of the time] so people often got 5, 10 or 15 weeks, never did a 15week but did 10 weeks once. Never saw anyone getting shagged, a red haired half caste bloke used to chase people round, I thought it was all a joke. I did hear one of the blokes, who was a good amateur boxer, was inclined to porking a 15 year old; I was told this many years later, sort of didn't you know?
