Subject: I'm glad someone's getting use out of my lists besides me. I keep them so I can remember the general premise and titles in sequence of series I liked. I read so many I forget them sometimes. I started a list a while back for stuff in the fantasy realm that might be good choices for my niece or other teens. I like to give books as gifts. I'll put the list inside so it's there if you want it.
In reply to: Robyn 's message, "I'll put the author on the list with the others you've recommended....which is printed in my purse and saved to my desktop incase I lose the printed copy :) Thanks again Shads!!" on 15:58:28 06/19/09 Fri

Darkover series
For a detailed understanding of the (extremely complicated) premise for this series, see wikipedia's entry here : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darkover_series

MZB always insisted that the Darkover novels are not a series and can be read in any order, since none of the books assumes that you are familiar with any other of the books. If you simply MUST have an order in which to read them, it is better to read them chronologically by publication date, rather than in chronology of Darkovan history; that way you will follow MZB's thought processes as her concept of Darkover grew and expanded.

1. Planet Savers
2. Sword of Aldones
3. The Bloody Sun
4. Star of Danger
5. Winds of Darkover
6. World Wreckers
7. Darkover Landfall

In this first outing, Harper and her manager and stepbrother Tolliver travel to a small town in Arkansas to determine what happened to a local teenager. Once there, they learn that someone is willing go to great lengths--even murder--to bury a secret.
