Subject: Is there anybody out there? :)

I thought I'd check in here when I got home from work tonight. I see we've all gotten boring again, so.....what's up?

I'll start off - I'm taking Sierra to her first Driver's Ed meeting tonight. Eyiyiyi, how the hell did that happen? She'll be 15 on the 27th. Dylan is enjoying his freshman year of college, and I'm glad he's going somewhere close (90 minute drive) since he comes home about every three weeks. He was home this weekend to change his oil (and mine, such a good boy *G*), brush the dog and I took him shoe shopping. 13D, if you want to know. :) School is still kicking my butt, two days a week I'm up for at least 24 hours, one memorable (well, not really since I was sort of in a fog) day last week I was up for 47 hours with just a 90 minute nap in there somewhere. Ten more weeks in this semester and I can't WAIT for it to be over. Next semester should be easier, then the last one will be hard but it will also be the LAST. DH Chris is still not being very helpful or supportive, but at this point I don't really care. I do what I do and he does - well, not that much other than go to work and cut wood, but at least he does that. :p We have a big anniversary coming up (25 years married on September 27) and I've been telling him it's coming since the last anniversary. He'd better do SOMETHING good, or I just might have to beat him. Ok, off to bed, it's almost 6am here.

[> Maria, I don't know how you do it...... I really dont! Especially with no help at home....... that sort of burns my biscuit! Ian came home a lot the first year, and after that .......nope. *g* But then he was in an apartment and not a dorm. Im just completing the first week of my detox and can honestly say I feel no different what so ever! I miss my bowl of cereal every day! I'm hungry! I think by tomorrow I will be down five pounds in a week. I think next week I will be cranky! I really dont have any news but if any of you watch Downton Abbey go inside>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> -- M&M, 13:50:58 02/13/12 Mon

That show is just pissing me off a wee bit. The head hancho and the maid..... ummmmm what chemistry was there? I think I missed it. That seemed so incredibly pointless. And the American fiance........ I havent seen him smoke and all the baddies in that smoke. LOL I can't wait for Shirley MacClain to come on and give Maggie Smith a run for her money, her little snarky lines are getting very old, and I don't find her funny at all lately.

Okay rant over. :)

[> [> Yeah, I've been on a diet similar to what you've described, and it is FIERCE. I lost weight, too. And I also got a bit cranky--kinda desperate thinking, "What the hell am I gonna eat next?" *G* So many of your mainstay snacks, etc. and just *poof* gone. Keep us posted, babe. -- Merc, 07:24:28 02/14/12 Tue

[> [> [> What are you guys detoxing from, wheat? We stopped all wheat products for a diet starting last August and I lost 15 lbs. Basically was low carb but I got insomnia and had to add back carbs in order to make seratonin and get some sleep. We eat loads of veg and fruits and we do eat some wheat a couple of times a week. It's a jarring change of eating habits not eating white things. -- PD, 11:24:25 02/14/12 Tue

[> [> [> [> PD, the accupuncture program I'm doing it called NAET, and you detox from sugar and gluten first. Each dr. is different and gives you different things to detox with, I have a crapload of pills. The gluten is harder than the sugar, I can't wait to have it back. -- M&M, 18:57:11 02/14/12 Tue

[> EGAD, Maria! My heart goes out to you. I've been having dental drama--had an "apicoectomy" several weeks ago, and now am facing something similar on the other side of my mouth. I am rapidly developing a SEVERE dislike of dental offices. And I am bloody sick of tooth aches. Makes me feel so bloody OLD. But, at least I don't have to read textbooks and do homework every night!! I'll be counting my blessings on that score. Hang in there, Maria! -- Merc, the Crown Queen, 07:20:02 02/14/12 Tue

[> Maria, I too, don't know how you do it all!!!Can you take a vacation when your classes are all done? Merc, I get the dental crap - I just spent $1900 (hope to get a bit of that back on insurance) and that was only the top half of my mouth. Can't afford to have the work done on the bottom right now (going to Scotland, instead;-) Betsy, going on the Scotland tour - fantastic! We're in the middle of planning 28 days there with my dh's sis and bil. We leave on May 16 and return June 13. -- M.F., 15:51:49 02/14/12 Tue

[> Guess I wasn't finished. About dieting, I am so DISGUSTED with myself. It's like when I was trying to quit smoking - the minute I even thought about it, I would chain smoke for a while! Now, when I know I need to not eat, I run and get something. I must have this really primitive brain! I keep wishing I could feel the same way about exercising. Why can't I get enough exercise - then it's the opposite! Pisses me off!!! PD, where are you living now - did you leave Victoria? We're heading to Gabriola for the month of March. No wonder I'm always broke! -- M.F., 15:58:14 02/14/12 Tue

[> [> I kept loading up before the detox, and then something would happen and I wouldnt be able to start and so there were weeks of my last sugar and bread fix. :) But I have to lose weight, I dont fit in my spring pants and all my clothes look awful. Best to you :) -- M&M, 20:56:41 02/14/12 Tue

[> [> We are still in Victoria and still working away at the house. Our list of stuff to do is getting smaller but we are doing things probably nobody would do, like refinish the interior door and reline the windows with oak. It does take time when you are doing it all yourself. DO WE NEED A DIET SUPPORT GROUP? I'm going for 10 more pounds. -- PD, 10:13:08 02/15/12 Wed

[> Maria, I have no clue how you do it. I seriously don't. I get so bitchy and stupid when I don't sleep. I can't focus or think. Good luck with the rest of your classes. I feel your pain with the driving. Kate passed her road test and will get her DL in a few months. SCARY! Michelle, I feel your pain too. I am at my highest weight in a decade. So angry at myself...can't fit in anything. I have GOT to get my shit together and SOON. Betsy...woohoo on the Scotland trip!!! -- Tam, 21:54:09 02/14/12 Tue

[> Good Lord, Maria! I don't know how you managed to not kill anyone yet! Kudo's to you and your wonderful and patient personality. I haven't been trying to lose weight but have been doing so nonetheless. It doesn't help that my appetite is diminished by about half but now I'm on an "eat for your blood type" diet and finding the right stuff to eat is a bit of a challenge. All in all I've lost about 46lbs and I'm happy to be a pant size smaller but I still worry about losing too much which to me is a death knell. -- Aislinn, 16:58:58 02/15/12 Wed
