Subject: Hey Gang...I'm not ready to go to the Kirk yet so I thought I'd come here and pester y'all.

You all know that Matt has struggled with weight issues for...EVER. We basically brought him home this last year to work on his health and well being. Well, time has come and they set a Gastric Bypass surgery date...June 6th. I am both anxious in a good way and TERRIFIED. He seems just plain excited. I worry that something will happen to him during the operation. I worry that he thinks it's a magic pill. I worry he'll regret it. I worry that he'll lose the weight and then regain. I FUCKING WORRY! I feel like that's all I freakin' do!
All I'm asking for is vibes and prayers this is the first step to a healthy happy life for a wonderful kid. Just needed to vent a bit.
HUGS!

[> I was just wondering about this yesterday!! Of course your going to be a worried Momma. Nothing is going to change that. I really hope that this is the 2nd chance Matt needs and he will never look back. He will be healthy and happy. Try not to stess too much, be positive. -- Cherie, 23:54:17 04/18/12 Wed

[> (((((((Tam and Matt)))))) Vibes on the way! A lady at the store I work at it had this done last winter and she's lost 165 pounds and looks fantastic. She was on oxygen and could barely walk before, now she's zipping around like she's 20 years younger and has tons of energy. You wouldn't be a mom if you didn't worry. Everything will be ok. :) -- Maria, 03:29:27 04/19/12 Thu

[> Hugs to Tam and Matt! I hope that because he is so young, that he will be a lot more active and he will naturally keep it off. I'd worry too.......I think we all would! Go easy on yourself! Let us know how he is doing, I think about him a lot too! -- M&M, 08:26:52 04/19/12 Thu

[> Worrying is what moms do it seems. I worried myself senseless when Teagan had her wisdom teeth out a few weeks back. I wish I knew a way to turn that off. *G* I am sending vibes to you all that all will be well and Matt can have a great new start towards a healthy life. He is a terrific kid from what I've seen of him!! PS - Congrats to Cait for playing Carnegie Hall with her orchestra. Very cool. -- Fiona, 09:51:50 04/19/12 Thu

[> Fiona is right, worrying is just what moms do. I have a severely overweight son too and wish he'd get his act together and exercise and eat more sensibly but it has yet to happen. Vibes to you and Matt! -- Denise, 10:47:11 04/19/12 Thu

[> I was going to email you and ask you how he's been doing. I hope everything goes smoothly and that this will be what he needs to go forward and get past some of this. Hang in there. Hugs -- Colly, 11:34:17 04/19/12 Thu

[> Sending good thoughts and prayers for you and Matt. He is such a nice young man with an infectious smile and huge hugs. Parents worry - the guilt and the worrying start when the labor ends and then continue forever. You are such a good mom to not only your own kids but their friends as well. Hang in there. -- CathyS, 17:22:01 04/19/12 Thu

[> Calming vibes coming for the Momma, and healing/weight-loss success vibes for Matt! (Al Roker on the TODAY show is a great inspiration--he had the surgery done years ago, and has kept the weight off ever since--he looks great now) -- Merc, 19:29:57 04/19/12 Thu

[> Thanks y'all. I'll keep you posted. I have very few pics of her Carnegie performance. No cameras or video equipment allowed. I did post a few on FB. The best ones, sadly, are on my phone. -- Tam, 20:15:20 04/19/12 Thu
