Subject: Happy Canada Day/Fourth of July!!!

It's the Canada Day long weekend here and I'm so looking forward to an extra day off.

I had a traumatic experience last week at the dentist. I had an old root canal that started giving me problems. I was supposed to get a crown. When they started to work on it the tooth BROKE!! So the had to take out the broken part, then I had to see the oral surgeon to see if it could be posted or an implant done. Nope, they had to pull the damn thing. So now I have a whole in the back of my mouth for up to 6 weeks till it heals and I can have a bridge put it. Now I'm always paranoid that someone can see it. My friends insist you can't but I find myself shutting my mouth more often (might not be a bad thing *G*)

Next week Stampede starts Yee-Haw!!! I've got myself pretty booked up so as usual it should be a good time (Yodi you around on the 13th? Want to go to the Stomp again? Goo Goo Dolls are playing!!! My cousin Sadie is coming too.)

You were right M Christian Grey is driving me crazy. I'm about 1/2 through. My friends keep saying I have to get to the second book, I'm trying. I just picked up the new LKH Kiss the Dead (?).

Darcy says he's moving out in August, I'll miss him. Josie is going back for upgrading for 6 months then is planning on going away to school. It will be just me & Bean!! I might have to find a boyfriend, but I'll wait till after Stampede for that *BEG*

So what's new? Weekend, 4th of July plans? What are you reading?

Oh, anyone else TOTALLY addicted to Pintrest? Holy Cow I can spend hours there.

[> I like both of the flags! :) I hear that all the time about the tooth breaking and how awful it is. :( Missing a molar....... you feeling a wee old are you? :) LOL on Christian Grey...... doesnt it just boggle your mind that these books are so popular?! Im not addicted to Pintrest but..... I like to use it as a "favorites" type of the thing, bookmarking stuff for later. Not much going around here, this past week I painted Scottys deck and stained mine so there was a few days I couldnt move. *g* Re-working Nancy E. Turners website..... love that woman. And....... the puppies s/b born around the fourth! :) -- M&M, 20:47:24 06/29/12 Fri

[> [> [> Hey Michelle--post pics of the painted decks! Cherie--I had a whole in my mouth for several years until I worked up the nerve to have an implant put in. Now, I have a tooth on the other side that is giving me fits (and it has already had a root canal, apicoectomy), so next it will have to be pulled. ACCKKK. So, I totally feel your pain and angst about tooth issues. And it DOES make you feel old. -- Merc,, 17:08:08 07/03/12 Tue

[> [> [> [> I can't get an implant because my sinus is too close to the site. I would have to have sinus surgery 1st, then the implant. NO THANKS!!! I'm just waiting to hear back how much the bridge will cost me. -- Cherie, 10:55:06 07/04/12 Wed

[> [> [> [> [> Without an implant you will have bone loss (old people with front dentures and a gap - that's why). I would ask what those implications are for your sinuses long term. Check with an ENT. You are too young to feel old! -- Debra Mc, 22:19:03 07/14/12 Sat

[> That blows on the tooth thing. Matt is having a tooth problem. He went in the week before his surgery and got a molar drilled & filled. Well, it was such a big cavity that now the tooth is fucked up and they have to do a root canal on Monday. That poor kid can't catch a break. To top that off he's alone with his father for 2 weeks. Maybe I should up the life insurance as Matt might kill Steve. Wish I could make it to Stampede. BUT, I am enjoying hanging with my parents. Kaitlyn and I needed a Steve and Matt break. I haven't gotten into Pinterest. I'm sure I could blow some serious time there. What will you do with both kiddies gone? I'm dreading Kate leaving me. I might just have to get a divorce and start from scratch. lol -- Tam, 21:53:50 06/29/12 Fri

[> [> Ask about a crown on that tooth. That's what happened with mine. It should have been crowned but wasn't. When my new dentist tried to crown it, it broke. nasty!!! I don't know what I'll do with myself when I'm alone in the house. That is one of the reason's I got Bean, someone to hang out with *G* They are not home very often now. I need to get back into a gym routine. I've been in a funk for a few months. Just can't seem to get my ass running or to the gym. I did do kick boxing from Jan to May, I'm taking a break from that till Aug. Maybe I'll need a hobby -- Cherie, 23:19:21 07/02/12 Mon

[> [> I don't want to fuck him, I want to punch him!!! I find it easier to believe that I'll meet a vampire and have sex, then I ever would with Christian Grey. Really!!! -- Cherie (), 23:23:15 07/02/12 Mon

[> [> [> Hahaha...I wasn't attracted to him either. The whole trilogy reminded me of Roarke...it was like they combined the awesome perfect Roarke with Eve's childhood. -- Tam, 19:18:00 07/03/12 Tue

[> Sorry about your tooth; it's a bitch to have mouth pain and gaps. The garden is pretty much under control so I guess I'll be playing in the studio. I bought a turkey and will be cooking it tomorrow - mkes for easy and quick dinners for days, besides DH is a turkey junkie. Also, I've been making sangria with the fresh fruit and cheap wine, OMG it's too good. Happy Hols everyone. Tam, M&M inside -- PD, 09:56:27 06/30/12 Sat

Do you like Milk paint? I love the finish but not keen about the mixing of the powder even sifting I got lumps. Chalk paint is now available in US and Canada and it is already mixed and you don't need raw wood to apply it like you do with Milk. I've got a couple of projects in mind for its use but DH needs to get a table saw first. Just thought I'd mention it to you artsy girls; I'm excited about it.

[> [> [> I paint stuff with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint all the time and then sell it in my booth. I have a love hate relationship with it. It's very easy to use. You don't have to sand or prime whatever you are painting. It's great for peices that you want to distress or have a lot of carving on them. If you are looking for a smooth finish you might be better off with latex paint. I haven't tried milk paint yet, but I have bought it. Check out Miss Mustard Seeds blog. She uses both kind of paint. -- Toddles, 14:50:57 07/07/12 Sat

[> So happy summer has arrived! I've quit my shitty turkey job so happy but broke :). This weekend we have already had our fiddle/dance contest yesterday. No one placed but they played and danced well. First contest since they went to their new teacher and she was judging. :). Highland games tomorrow at the wee town next door. Should be baking as it's in a huge treeless field. My and Jeff's 22nd anniversary today. Max to camp for the week tomorrow then driving Teagan to her friend's cottage on Monday 5 hrs North. Dunc and I are going to tent camp :-0 for one night then drive home. Crazy weekend!!! -- Fiona, 10:34:50 06/30/12 Sat

[> [> [> Thanks everyone. I'm back home after our one night in a tent...too old for that shit for sure! Plus the tent my friends sent over on the bus from Calgary for them to use in Fergus was the tent we used and it was plastered with Roll Up the Rim signs (my friends own some Timmys so this was their promotional kit they sent over). We had no camping equipment because we usually have a trailer so we just kept our clothes, food etc in the van so all their was on our campsite was this crazy huge Roll Up the Rim tent and nothing else. We looked like total camping Newbs. We were cracking up -- Fiona, 20:28:50 07/03/12 Tue

[> Got back from a fantastic month in Scotland - got hired to sub for 6 days the day after we got home (for a close friend) and then had grandchildren for sleep overs for a week! Now exhausted and trying to clean up the house and pack for the island - leaving by Tuesday or Wednesday. So much to do!! Oh, and in between went for a bunch of medical tests - have to lose weight and watch my sugar and salt intake;-(. The highlights for Scotland this time were the Orkneys and, surprisingly, Glasgow. -- M.F., 13:41:31 07/01/12 Sun

[> Got back from camping last night (the weather was pretty good, much better than the constant rain we have been seeing). Now laundry, housework, yard work and whatever else needs to be done before hopefully heading out in our RV again. I'm reading Cindy Brandner's 'Flights of Angels' for our book discussion group and a historical romance by an LOLer, Genevieve Graham. Got lots of good books ready and waiting, especially after the recent used book sale increased my coffers. -- Denise, 12:32:59 07/02/12 Mon

[> Just got back from a week long trip to Illinois for a wedding. It's good to be home to my dry heat! Had a good time with my DH's siblings and their families. Was reminded how eccentric my DH's parents are and realized he is becoming more like his father as he ages. I have a week to clean house and do laundry and prepare to go to Oregon for my nieces wedding. -- Toddles, 15:07:17 07/07/12 Sat
