I was browsing through some Regine sites and a lot has been said about Boy Abunda's article on Regine's Bantay Bata concert (Philippine Star 06/14/02).

Personally, I think it's a good article. It was typical Boy Abunda. Lots of superfluous words and drama.

The heart of the article, however, is his admiration for Regine and her relationship with her dad. It was also a fitting tribute to Regine's hard work, her struggle and her determination to get where she is today.

I like the part where he commends Regine for being simple and true despite her achievements.

So whether it's just a "sip-sip" article like some people claim....or a press release for Bantay Bata, I don't really care. It was a tribute to Regine. And all I can say is: "It's about time!"

Thanks for posting, Kathy..

Alot of information is coming out about Boy these days.
Regarding some of his actions before. I been reading up
on alot of the articles he writes. And I'm checking into
what I'm being told. But Boy has been one of my favorites.
However, that doesn't mean I'll be sparing any of the truth
I may come across. I'm just saying let's keep a open mind
about this man's true character for the time being. And
continue to enjoy his show and articles. If there's something
music fans should know I hope it comes out. After his big
interview with Claudine that one time I think there may
be something to look into. till then, I'm glad he FINALLY
wrote something nice about Regine.

The fact he took this long may say something in itself.
hmmmm....

Boy and a few other writers like him are good at sip-sip.
Very good. I want articles from the heart from these writers
and not something sugar coated. I want to know if these
writers knew our artist's true character or not. If not,
then that is good info to always keep in mind. Stay tune.
But the way he built some people to be big talents should
be a good story to tell. I like to know how he does/did
alot of his past achievements with up and coming talents.

Yeah, it's about time.
And I hate to throw a cold towel on it-
but what took his so long? hmmmm?

Just wondering. If I'm going to vote for him
someday as a congressman It better be because
he deserves to be one. Not because he makes
good sip-sip to my idols. That don't do me
any good in reality. eh?

Hey, here's something interesting . .

It was said that Boy Abunda escorted his male singer
(the one who dated Regine) to her home in Bulacan
years ago. To see her dad? What?!..??

Not completely sure. And don't think we need to know
why at this time. But the fact that Boy (the manager)
did that is interesting. Was he trying to set his ware
up with Regine?

To that tidbit I add this..
A fan says Boy did not like Ariel's gf at the time!

Really now?

This may surprise some fans who come here. I know we
do not touch on this kind of stuff because its personal
and Regine does not like it most probably. But stick
with me on the purpose, please. Some issues are not
going away and the only way to set records straight
is to find some good answers for Regine's good fans.

Or else it won't be Lea's mailing list that will be
getting hate mail from some of Reg's super-to-die hard
fans. (oh, oh..)

What we are looking at here -
Is Boy a bigger part of a few incidents and stories
that he hasn't let on about? Did he try to push his ware
on our idol for reasons stated and not stated? Because
if any of these things are true? Then we may be able to
help the artist heal any more doubts left in her mind.
About a relationship. Why? Well, as one of the band
managers of a very big band management group before- I
know of situations that did happen just like that. Where
another manager try to control a situation where he got
2 singers together because he wanted them in the same
band! I kid you not. And that should be a no-no! Managers
shouldn't be playing god. And if this manager did do it
then he is probably just as much to blame for someone's
heartbreak. Love should be free and natural. And we should
let fate play its hand. When people try to manipulate
even people's relationship they are taking serious chances
with people's love life. And it happens alot in the movie
side as it is. You ever wonder why those celebrity marriages
never work? Here's a darn good clue.

Case in point- The stars of 'Got to Believe'
The male star said they broke up. But had to pretend
they were on because of their movie. He showed signs
like he had to do it. Because of the producers and
others involve. That says enough I think.

Since this report first came out there
have been several more articles from B.A.
about Regine from his corner in the Star
newspaper.

There has been visits to this forum
from those I refer to as the "backroom eyes."

In reference to some of the tidbits in
the post called- 'Boy Abunda's "Nice"
Article on Regine' from 2002:

That part mentioning the time when a
Regine fan said B.A. didn't like A.R.'s
girlfriend being part of the reason why
Regine was being paired in concert with
A.R. is considered now as false.

B.A. was once Regine's publicist. But
since the Canada incident things have
changed. That's why there has been
those artists who aren't even directly
associated with Regine in shows and
concerts lately. Because they are
directly connected to the company
of B.A. and has been assisting in
some things with the new management
of the artist. Unfortunately.. that
is exactly where the road ends as
well as where the buck makes a stop
following the leads in uncovering
where the source of the Regine-Ogie
rumors are coming from. *sigh*

That comment made above about a die-hard
Regine fan(s) sending hate mail to the
mailing list of Lea Solonga was near the
time period the posts above were written
in.. 2002/2001 time period -

And it is now believed . .

That the so called 'die-hard' female Regine
fan who made the letter and had it sent to
Lea's mailing list was not using her real
name for some reason.. Then it was reported
by a GRVF* willing to be helpful to our concerns
that the person in questioned not only never
posted again on the list.. there was no other
post by her pior to her letter to LSML**

That signals a definite red flag to me.
( meaning there is reason to be concern)

It is said that the person apologized for
the letter but it was never done in front
of the list where it was represented (RVML1)
nor to any Regine fan in person that can
be contacted. It has been said that PhilMusic
traced the person of the post but there was
never any mention of that by PhilMusic nor has
there been any reply from the fan who was asked
to make follow-ups on it.

It is now believe that the attack on Lea via
her mailing list in a letter that linked RVML
as the list source where the person came from
wasn't some fan making a misguided statement
on the behalf of the Regine fans on RVML1.

But most possible part of a well planned
bigger hidden conspiracy to undermine the
working relationships Regine as having with
other people and professionals throughout the
local music industry.

It is also believed that it was letter from
a fan in RVML1 to Lea's mailing list that
cause the two musical directors Regine was
working with (Reg's brother-in-law & Lea's
Brother-for-real) to have a serious fallout
but may be the reason why Gerald Salonga
stopped being one of RV's musical directors.

Both musical directors were members of RVML1
at the time.

It was when the Manila Bulletin(Scuttle-nut)started
mentioning their fallout in her blind item space
as well as other inside tidbits only an insider
in Regine's musical management camp would know
about.. that RV friends started to see direct
links with some of the mbrs of RVML to the
person and people connected to the attacks
against the Song Bird in the media.

Someone was being used in Regine's circle
for getting info that helps them keep track
of what she has been up to and planning to
do next.

Once a good Regine fan mentioned something
that made alot of sense.. why worry about what
is being said against Regine in the newspaper,
tv, radio and other media outlets if she doesn't
pay attention to them much less get to hear
about any rumors since she doesn't watch showbiz
news, surf the net or buys newspapers or showbiz
magazines? (at the time)

Ans- They are using the same persons they have
reached in her camp to not only get useful info
but pass info to them so it will reach Regine's
ear. Otherwise, most of those rumors are useless.

Especially the blind items which wouldn't be
known or understood by most Regine fans. But
easily to clarify for Regine via her own
people acting as unwilling moles.
