As promised...
My friend and I left Makati around 6. Got there an hour-and-a-half earlier than the scheduled showtime. Had dinner and went inside the Big Dome at exactly 8:30.
We were seated on the right side of the stage. Noticed that Araneta was full of people (as expected!). The stage had a backdrop of pictures of Martin (left) and Regine (right) with two cinematic projection screen at the center. The stage floor was also designed with the movie reel effect.
Guests started pouring in... We saw ABS-CBN big league, Mang Gerry wasn't around though, and there came her Excellency, GMA!!! Wow! We didn't expect to see her there!
Around 9, the show started with a telenovela video. Martin and Regine acted with their voices dubbed in Tagalog. Mart was the rich guy in the movie.
Then the show was opened up by five artists: Zsa Zsa, Jolina, Vina, Piolo, and Lani. They sang "You are My Song". And then Martin and Regine came out. Martin was wearing a silver polo shirt. While Reg was dressed in a very sexy silver dress. Her mini skirt was high and you could see a lot of her shapely thighs. It also had a slit on her left side. VERY SEXY!!! She also had hair extensions ala Christina Aguilera...
They sang medleys like "A Night to Remember", "Magkasuyo", "Haharapin Natin", etc.
Then Martin left the stage. Reg sang "A Thousand Miles" and "Pretty Baby". She also sang her latest, "Pangarap Kong Ibigin Ka". She introduced the song by singing, "Hanggang Ngayon". She told the audience that Richard and Lucy were present. She made fun of her movies because she told the audience that her leading men were not the first choice--Martin was. They showed the posters of her movies with Martin replacing her leading men.
Regine left and Martin came back wearing a blue polo shirt with leather pants. He sang his songs like "Chasing Time". He also serenaded the President with the song, "You".
Then came the first highlight of the concert, Regine came back wearing also a blue gown. They sang, "Used To Be". You could feel the electricity in their performance. Super galing!
They both left the stage. The telemovie was continued.
Reg came out wearing a maroon gown. She sang "Hinahanap-hanap Kita". Martin was also wearing a maroon polo. They did a James Ingram medley. Nice arrangement.
Martin sang "If You're Not The One". He didn't reach the high part well but it was okay.
Regine came out wearing an orange gown. She sang a beautifully arranged "Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin" and people were screaming because of how she interpreted the song! Fantastic!
They did a duet of an unheard song (sorry)...
Martin came out and he sang "My Sacrifice" and "I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing". Regine came out wearing a red gown this time. She sang "Kailangan Kita". Again, she told the audience that this song was Piolo's and arranged by her good friend, Ogie. The song was breathtaking! It was very nicely sung by Regine. People were also screaming...
Telemovie. They actually showed Martin and Regine kissing!!!
Martin started off by singing a song that Josh Groban declined to include in his album. It's about peace. Since he turned it down, it was now Martin's. Very good song. Turned out that it will be a medley of Josh's songs... Reg came out wearing a white laced gown. You could see some cleavage there! She sang "Starry, Starry Night" (not sure of the title), and lastly, they sang "The Prayer". Wow!!!
They sang a Broadway medley of songs from "West Side Story", "Heckle and Jeckle", and "They're Playing Our Song"... Outstanding!!!
They thanked the audience and said goodnight.
Their encore numbers include "Forever" and "On The Wings of Love"...
Whewwww!!! We left Araneta feeling good and I told myself that I wanna see the repeat in June. Regine was so good that night! People who haven't seen it yet should watch out for "Used To Be", "Ikaw Ang Lahat Sa Akin", "Kailangan Kita", and the Broadway Medley songs. Super worth it!!! Bravo to the two of the BEST artists in the land!
