Do not forget that many international record labels
are biased against us deserving Filipinos. Sony Music
chosed the untalented Coco Lee because of her race and
the market she could reach. But when her international
album released, it flopped even in her home
territories.

Had Sony picked Regine, then obviously she would have
scored better even to non-Filipinos worldwide. Regine
is better than Coco and many other singers from those
super-blasted rich Asian nations (who put us Pinoys
down), but like I said there are many who are biased
against us.

We Filipinos are BETTER than the Japanese, Chinese,
Koreans, Malaysians and the rest of Asia!

I really wish that she really goes for the Legrand project

Her best bet is to go on with the Legrand CD. Though Legrand's
music is not mainstream in US pop, there are still a ton of money
to be made in that genre. In New York especially.

The sophisticated and rich crowd would just be enamored with
Regine's artful vocal interpretations of Streisand, Legrand-type
songs. Just look at Ann Hampton Calloway (cabaret, piano bar singer
who sang the theme song of comedy TV show "THE NANNY".
despite her age and limited fan base, she is still making great
bucks from all of her Manhattan gigs. She is currently recording
her 7th CD as we speak. Unless regine can hook up with an
innovative POP music producer who knows a unique style/sound
for regine, she's better off with the classics/standards genre
wherein true talent is appreciated as opposed to the "all glitter,
all gimmick" mainstream pop of today. Today's pop stuff has way
too much emphasis on danceable beats and visuals. Remember,
there are very few asian singers who could do songs of Streisand,
Legrand and the likes with much passion and perfection like Regine.
Americans migh just get intrigued and blown away by this slim,
asian woman whose powerful and emotionally charged vocal
deliveries are way beyond her physical size.
