It's the first SOP Music Awards and they held it at UP Theatre. The venue is big enough to accomodate the artists who came for the party.

For their opening number, Reg came in with low-rise jeans, showing off her belly. Nice!

Then they started giving out the awards. The SexBomb singers got one. Bamboo was missing to receive his. His band members told the audience that he's sick (sore eyes?). MYMP deserved the award that they got. Salbakuta also got an award.

They also had a guest from Hollywood. A co-star of Lizzy McGuire, Lalaine, sang a song from her album (?). She was interviewed by Jaya and was asked to sing any song (Please Be Careful with my Heart) of our Songbird. Apparently she's a big fan! I remember a friend told me that she had her pictures taken with the Songbird when Reg had a concert in LA.

In the Back2Back2Back portion, they featured the songs of Ogie A. Janno was late again but his version of "Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw" reminded me of Michael Buble style. Now for our Songbird, with a big flower on her hair, interpreted a refreshing version of "Pangarap Kong Ibigin Ka". Boy, it was good! Her best version to date. *claps*

The birthday boy sang with his parents. When Jaya offered SOP's gift to Ogie (a big collector of action figures), she broke the top portion of a toy.

I didn't get to finish the show because when I checked my recording, it was only till 2:30. I missed the Songbird singing "Rainbow".

Lalaine? Man, oh man.. She's one of us, pala! hehe..
What nationality did she play on that show? Mexican?
Blew my mind when I found out she was as pinoy as
papaya pie! Here I was arguing with some music fans
about the possibilities that TATA YOUNG must have some
filipino blood in her somewhere- (she looks too pinoy
and less thai to some of us. And she has been coming
into the country alot. no? She seems to like it here..)
turns out that its Lalaine and she is even ahead of
our American-pinoy idols with releasing her own solo
album. I think I read somewhere that Lalaine had a
hit single under DISNEY RECORDS! Incredible..

And she's a REGINE fan too! An 'admitted' one at that ..
I'm already liking this girl like no other for being open
and honest about that. Seems several of our own diva singers
can't even do that. You guys know which ones I'm talking
about. ( Regine Clone I & II )

I like to post some of her links on the music web site. I
posted a nice article about her in the FIL-AM mailing list
last week. But I guess one of the moderators don't like her
at all because it was sent in for posting and I guess it
won't be by this time. I'll try to put together another for
posting here. Fellow female recording artists who are fans
of Song Bird should get good fan treatment from Regine
fans. I hope she gets invited to guest in Regine's show
in December. Replacing that one local singer who is doing
alot of Regine in her career but has yet to give her some
due and respect for it. Be fair..

Thanks for posting!

mmJun :-)
Another female US-pinoy recording artist? Yehey!
She's a cutie too..
