Subject: My SOP Review (Aug. 15th) Author: Don [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 08:50:51 08/15/04 Sun Author Host/IP: ipdial-173-22.tri-isys.com/202.81.173.22 Anyhoo, SOP started off with Britney revival, "I love Rock & Roll". Pops was the special co-host so I thought Reg was absent. Reg appeared in their B2B2B segment, singing her Bagong Kampiyon winning piece, "In Your Eyes". It looks to me that she didn't have time to rehearse 'cause there was a part that she paused for a second. Noticeably, she wasn't in her playful mood. When Ogie & Jaya were dancing, she was standing still and looked tired. I must say her dress is very nice!!! Reg, Jaya, & Pops introduced a new all-young-male dance group. Couldn't care less. :? Angelu de Leon celebrated her birthday with the usual friends and greetings. Last week, there was an incident with a background props falling down on Ogie. This time, two ladies slipped on the dance floor. Jolina was singing with Kyla and Karylle when she slipped. And in her Overheat number, Rufa Mae slipped too. Tsk tsk tsk... I really liked Kyla's new song, "Not Your Ordinary Girl". It reminded me of Ashanti. Hearing her sing with KC entertained me. Good job, girl!!! Rufa Mae made a booboo when she introduced their segment, "To the 4th Power" as "To the 4th Level". Ogie corrected her on air. :lol: Jay-R was good in his version of "One Last Cry". When Jaya & Reg sang, "Basang-basa sa Ulan", with the Aegis, I didn't hear Reg's voice much. What powerful voices the two Aegis vocalists have!!! Akafellas (not sure of the spelling) was good in their version of "Bongga Ka, Day". Don't they have a new song? Reg promoted her concert in Malolos (September 4th). I stuck around to see if she would say anything but the show turned into ASAP-like all of a sudden. It got BAD. SUPERSTARS GUEST ON THESE SHOWS AS EARLY AS 9 AM BUT YOU'LL REALLY ENJOY THEIR FREE PERFORMANCES. IT IS LIKE WATCHING A MINI CONCERT. THEY ALSO SING THEIR OWN MUSIC. I consider all Regine fans as my friends, kaya Joe, as a friend ito lang ang masasabi ko sa 'yo. We cannot always be happy sa lahat ng mga performances nila or sa lahat ng kanilang mga choices of songs, or dresses, or even hairdos. I think nagpapakita lang, that they are just as human as anybody else, making bad choices and the wrong decisions. And yes, kahit papano, kahit free for public viewing ang SOP, they owe it to the advertisers and the audience to give a good show because they are being paid by the producers and advertisers to do so, pero we don't have the say either kung ano ang dapat nilang gawin sa show nila, eh show nila 'yon eh, but we definitely have the choice to either watch it and get upset, or switch the channel to watch something else more amusing. Have you seen the movie "The Village" by Shayamalalalalan or whatever ang last name ng taong yan? I paid, and I even stood for an hour in line just to watch that movie the first day it came out. Question...nagustuhan ko ba? HINDI, hindi, hindi...lol, I was so dissapointed. Pero anong magagawa ko but to hope that his next movie would be better, di ba? Another one, Kill Bill. I liked the first one, and slept on the second one, pero wala rin akong nagawa kundi murahin na lang si Tarantino sa isipan ko habang pinapanood ko ang movie, na sana madapa sya. Even the show "Friends", "Sex in the City", "Will & Grace", etc...have so-so episodes, and SOP, ASAP, MTB, etc... are no exceptions. And if they continue to provide poorly conceptualized shows, allow them to suffer the consequences (low rating) so they may learn from it. Lahat naman tayo kasi may mga expectations eh, at minsan if it didn't turn out the way we expect things to be, na fru-frustrate tayo. Pero ok lang yan, just don't take it too seriously and just hope and pray that the following week would be a better show. Hey, you didn't get Pops mixed up with that other girl there who looked like her. She was celebrating her birthday. Which most people celebrate with their family and real friends. Apparently, not celebrities.. They sing "The Greatest Love of All" that much?! I missed it every single time. Call it a blessing. (j.joking..) The way those celebrities keep calling what I would call a nightmare, their blessings.. well, that said it all there. Regine looked drunk?! lolz.. Nah.. she was acting strange because there was something going on. I think my latest wild guess is close. But I'm waiting to see a copy of the show before I say it.
