I think it's unfair to say that mariah sings with no emotion and all acrobatics...honestly, if you ask most of her fans, they would tell you that what drew them most to her is the messages that were in her songs, and the way she sang them, like she was sharing her innermost feelings to her audience. think of her songs in the past where she sings with almost no acrobatics, very low register, like "petals" in the rainbow album, or "close my eyes" in butterfly, where she pours her heart out, and I am definitely sure you would be convinced otherwise.

And what adds to this is that she was the one who wrote them, which means she means it. I was compelled to reply to this post because it is utterly unfair to judge her when, in my opinion, you don't listen to her music and just base your opinion on what you see on tv or what you hear on the radio. Of course, she belongs to popular music, plus she's known as a diva with a big voice, so it is inevitable that SOME of her songs are like that (eg full of vocal gymnastics).

The point is that to say that Mariah's songs are devoid of emotion is tantamount for me to acknowledging that you are extremely misguided or otherwise just plainly naive.

In the end, it all comes down to choice. Mariah fans, like me, choose Mariah because we feel that we identify with her music more. Regine fans are free to do the same. I say this a lot, but her music has helped me through a lot of pain, and if only for that, Regine cannot even come close to how Mariah touches the lives of her fans. But then again, as I said, it's choice that draws the line.

MAS BELIEVABLE NAMAN SI MARIAH TO SING WITH EMOTIONS ANG FEELINGS KASI ANG SONGS NA KINAKANTA NIYA SIYA NAGKOCOMPOSE. IBIG SABIHIN SARILING DAMDAMIN AT ISIP NIYA LAHAT YUN. SI REGINE WALA PANG NAKOCOMPOSE NA KANTA.

i don't think singing has something to do with thought.i didn't get it actually....if that's your opinion therefore regine is better than her because she can sing emotionally even it's not her composition.

Sa akin lang ha. Mas na fe-feel ko ang emotions on Regine's voice than Mariah, or even compared to other singers. Kaya ang sarap mag-emote while listening to Regine's songs. I'm sure Mariah feels her songs at may emotions naman when she sings her songs, pero mas matindi nga lang ang kay Regine.

A singers music writing ability cannot be the basis whether a singer can sing a song with feelings or not. Maraming teenager na songwriters dyan that are very creative in writing, yet I doubt it if they fully or truly feel what they are writing about.

Regine may not be writing her own songs, but she chooses those songs that she can relate too, thus, she can put her feelings into it.

But we have to consider naman siguro the types of songs na kinakanta nila Mariah at Regine. Could be that the majority of Regine's songs are just more emotional or sentimental lang talaga compared to Mariah's. Lalo na ang mga opm songs ni Regine. Si Ogie ba naman ang pasusulatin mo ng kanta at pakantahin kay Regine, sino ba naman ang hindi mata-touch no'n, unless pusong bato ka, lol.

Mariah and Regine are both natural born singers who have been through a lot in their lives. And because of those experiences, it honed them to be more expressive in singing. Pero sa totoo lang, mas maraming paghihirap sa buhay ang dinaanan ni Regine compared to Mariah, so i wouldn't think twice to say that Regine's singing can be more emotional than that of Mariah's.
