Regine Velasquez reinvents herself with a new concept album titled Low Key, under Universal Records. Regine told the Press that Low Key is more mellow and laidback than her previous albums and very light to listen to, but could make anyone feel sentimental and in love.

She has personally selected all tracks in the album, which are the ones she is very familiar with and considers relevant to her listeners as well.

As shown in her music video of the carrier single 'Tell Me That You Love Me' (a Terry Gibbs original), a story of two persons apart from each other is very familiar to any one who experiences missing a special someone. The track 'Leader of the Band' is dedicated to her father while 'She’s Always the Woman to Me' is for her mother. She playfully added that all the singles are devoted to her baby George, her pet dog.

Also included in the album is the bonus Christmas track 'Christmas Is', sung with Jim Brickman. This track is also in Jim’s Christmas album, The Hymn & Carols of Christmas, also from Universal Records.

Regine and UR are proud to declare that the ultimate music artist performed every song as if it was her own. Her interpretations are relaxing and sure pleasures to the ears!

Asked about why she has recorded revivals instead of originals, she candidly answered, “I would like to do originals, I haven’t done that in a while. But now, people would like to listen to something they are familiar with.” Regine wants to carry out more revival songs in the future as this is what the market currently looks for. She also added that a lot of the songs can be used as theme songs of movies and TV shows.

Universal Records also wants the buyers to give more value to their purchase and included a minus one CD so people could sing along to Regine's songs.

After the success of Ako Si Kim Sam Soon, Regine is set to shoot a romantic comedy rendition of Totoy Bato with Robin Padilla next year. Regine will play a singer whom a second-rate boxer (Robin) will fall in love with. Acknowledging her lankiness, Regine gears up by doing boxing twice a week in case a scene calls for her to do some genuine fist-fights. Of course the Divas 4 Divas this December 6 in The Big Dome is in full swing. Fellow music divas Kuh Ledesma, Zsha-zsha Padilla and Pops Fernandez collaborated with her to come up with the biggest concert this Holiday season. The Asia’s Song Bird indeed fleets from one engagement to another.

Going back to Low Key, it will also be launched at SOP in GMA 7, Nov. 23. A purchase of the album at select Astro Vision, SM, Odyssey and Music One outlets allows one to have the limited-edition Regine Velasquez posters. Each music store exclusively carries a different collectible poster.
