She may be preserving her voice for her 2-night concert with Ogie...

Honestly, people shld be used to hearing Regine in her normal singing voice & not look for her beltings & reaching of high notes... Whether she's preserving her voice or not, the song called for her medium-range notes so the audience just got what the song is arranged for... She has a nice voice, most esp if she doesn't shout, and I can't understand why a lot of Pinoys can't appreciate a singer's rendition of songs w/o having to reach high notes. Voices are pleasant & enjoyable even w/o having to shout or shriek or belt.

After an educating weekend
Jun is closer to concluding..

I'll try to make the theory very simple-
Its a masa kind of thing.

And Regine seems to know it too.

When Channel 5 comes on to compete with
the TV leaders (meaning chan.7 & chan.2)
it will be presenting shows it says would
be for the 'middle classes' because they
have been left out of local tv programming.

So they pretty much said it as it's been-
local tv viewing from the two top channels
have been catering to the masa group for the
last decade. And Regine was somehow able to
know exactly what her targeted TV audience
wanted. But was she also catering to the
same group in her shows? Well, those where
her hits and those were the songs she wanted
to song that weren't. In conclusion, she was
always true to her masa roots.

Not like another singer who is trying to
be like Regine but still goes back alot to
her real chosen field of music which was
R & B. And several of her albums have been
reflecting that.

So maybe in true reality she wasn't so
much as trying to be like Regine but in
fact copying alot of what Regine does
(including singing the songs she does)
because she wanted the kind of success
Regine has. Since that kind of success
has not been achieved dispite this being
the later part of her second decade in
her music career.

It was her belting of songs that did it
finally. Believe it or not. But belting
over kill can kill your voice.

Amazing how Regine never had real serious
problems with it. That would be one thing
all the other singers agree on together.

'How the heck does she do it so much?!'

Regine is truly awesome yet so under
appreciated for so many things only her
peers seem to never miss.

:-)

But just a theory. hehe..
