The concepts of originality in voice quality and style are rather vague, rather than realistic! Influences develop in them and become their own. Even the most successful artists, Elvis, Michael Jackson, The Beatles, name them...have acquired influences and make them their own. Most artists today, I think, are products of different influences that it is very hard to say that originality still exists. One style is not exclusive to one! Ideally, it is what every artist strives for. But unfortunately and practically, it doesn't usualy happen.

With Regine Velasquez, Jaya, and Lani Misalucha, I don't agree with you that they are less of the international artists. Don't you even drag their names to such disgrace. They could even surpass the likes of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, and Barbra Streisand GIVEN THE CHANCE. Even Lea Salonga and other Filipino artists who took the international light are admitted to the knowledge that Asian artists are discriminated and prejudiced, not because they are less talented, but because the international scene seemed to be exclusive to Americans and some Europeans.

As to their concert performances, our artists even have performances that I never heard in the international scenes. We just have to appreciate them. AND SUPPORT THEM.

Personally, hindi naman ako nalilito sa "sound" ng artists natin. I know when it's Regine. I know when it's Jaya or Lani.

THERES A BIG DEAL ABOUT REGINE, AND MANY OTHER FILIPINO ARTISTS...IF ONLY YOU WILL LOOK, THEN YOU WILL SEE THERE'S EVEN A BIGGER DEAL! They may not be perfect, so are the international artists.

*Britney Spears is not worth mentioning
