March 8, 2003 - Saturday(Hawaii Convention Center)- Martin and Regine's World Tour opens to a sold out crowd in Honolulu. Regine Velasquez looked as stunning as ever in her strapless striped silver sequined gown, her hair was up in a french twist with a couple of orchids on the side. They opened the show with a duet of "On the wings of love". The Concert King looked good overall, except for I felt he dressed a bit too casual especially beside Asia's Songbird who had at least four evening gown changes.
They sang a few more duets then the spotlight was on the Martin. He did a few new songs from his new album and ended his sequence with a much applauded Barry Manilow Medley. The songbird came back with a Medley of her movie themes Narito ako, Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw, Ikaw, Pangako in a very daring peach chiffon sparingly sequined plunging neckline gown. Regine obviously lost a lot of weight from the last time I saw her on TV on Sharon's birthday show, she was looking as beautiful as ever.
Martin re-entered the stage to join Regine in a duet of Motown Songs, then Magkasuyo Buong Gabi and few more others.
Regine sang her newest song, a theme from an unreleased movie she made, then Dadalhin, Ikaw ang Lahat sa Akin, I Don't want to miss a thing, and lot of her other hits.

Marin did a Josh Groban medley, You are my Song, I'll be there, and also a medley of his earlier hits.
They also did duets of 80's songs, Always and the like.

For the encore was the theme from Dirty Dancing. Overall the show ran about two and half hours long, but I enjoyed every minute of it. They brought their own band, backup singers and Louie Ocampo as the musical director. The sound system was excellent. It was well worth the $100 I paid for my ticket.

To all my kababayans support Martin and Regine two of the Philippine's best.

Aloha from Hawaii,
Desiree
