Amazing! Wonderful! Exhilirating! Fantastic!

Those words do not even come close to how the concert went last
Saturday night! The Songbird never ceases to amaze me with her
fantastic voice and her wonderful showmanship! It is worth every
single penny/centavo of the ticket price. Regine never disappoints
her fans with new and innovative concert "gimmicks."

Let me tell you how this concert lifted a heavy load off my system. I
started the day with a humongous migraine attack which lasted the
whole day. I was down in bed, contemplating whether or not I would
watch the concert due to my severe migraine. But since I knew that I
still had Rex's tickets and I agreed to meet Banz and Ren (who
treated me to this concert), and knowing that I would be able to hear
my favorite artist live once more, I fought my migraine with all my
might to be able to arrive at the concert venue.

When I arrived, Banz met with me right infront of Onstage. We got to
talk about Regine and how we were looking forward to the concert. We
then saw Mang Gerry and we had a chat with him. He told us how that
night's performance would be much more better than the previous
performances in the series. That really made me want to get the
concert going.

Then came Ren and then followed by Rex and his cousin. It was really
nice to meet other RVMLers, especially those whom you don't get to
see real often (like the ones from abroad). We had fun chatting with
each other and Mang Gerry. We were all looking forward to the show,
but we opted to wait outside the venue until the crowd, who were in a
long queue, got in.

Rex and Mang Gerry went inside to give Regine a gift, and when they
came out Rex was telling us how Regine sounded sick. Mang Gerry told
us that she's been having cough and colds the past few days that's
why she sounded hoarse. But I didn't worry. Knowing Regine, she'd
still sound as magnificent even when she's sick.

When we got in, Raul and the band were already doing the Instrumental
Overture to get the crowd going. Then came our magnificent Songbird,
donning a beautiful skin-toned sequined gown, singing a spectacular
rendition of Narito Ako. Woohoo!!! She made all the hair on my neck
stand up! And she was sick!!! Wonderful!!!

What made Rex really smile was when she sang "Urong Sulong." It had a
very different arrangement, but it was still the same Urong Sulong
we've all enjoyed for the last decade and a half. Then, Regine sang a
haunting "Linlangin Mo." Her wonderful rendition made me feel the
hurt and the love that the song wanted to put across.

Then, to my complete and utter joy, Regine sang "You've Made Me
Stronger." My migraine dissipated!!! Holy cow! Amazing!!! Then, the
classic and beautiful "Sana Maulit Muli." The way she sang it made me
want to cry for joy! Bravo!!!

While Ms. Velasquez changed her outfit, Gabby Eigenmann, sporting an
all-black attire (with matching chinese-collared black jacket), sang
one of his songs from "Loving..." I don't know what the title is
exactly, but the chorus had a line that goes "My love please don't go
away." He profusely thanked Regine for her support and for giving him
a chance in the music industry.

Enter the lovely Songbird, wearing a lace-lined black "see-through"
gown. She did a magnificent duet with Gabby. And guess what it
was... "It's hard to say Goodbye"!!! A most glorious arrangement done
by Raul Mitra! It had a latin sound to it and it was oh so romantic!
They even danced during the instrumental part!!! Lovely!!!

Her next song was "Perry's Will." She sang it with Sushi and the
Opera. Regine was so alive! I can't believe she was even a tad bit
sick! She was even dancing!!!

And this is one of the highlights of the evening... She sang "Tuwing
Umuulan"... ACAPELLA!!! The Opera provided the background acapella,
while Regine sang the melody. Bravo!!! From what I've heard from
those who have previously watched, this was her first time singing it
in acapella! I wanted to do a standing ovation right there!!!

After "Tuwing Umuulan," Regine sang some of her beautiful hits
from "Retro," namely, "You were There," "Bluer than Blue" and "I Just
Don't Wanna Be Lonely." Whilst she was singing, up above was a video
screen with her "Retro" album cover and the lyrics to her songs. She
made some boo-boos, but who cares?!? We're there for her voice not
for the lyrics!

After that, she disappeared backstage for yet another outfit change.
While she was out changing, Bungang Himig Choir rendered a haunting
intro to "On The Wings of Love" ala San Miguel Master Chorale in "One
Night With Regine." True to the "One Night..." form, Regine surprised
everyone by appearing right smack in the middle of the audience
singing the lines of the beautifully arranged masterpiece. Making her
way down the steps to the stage, she gracefully had her pictures
taken, to the delight of the crowd. She was wearing a gorgeous, red V-
neck gown with black and silver sequins/beads.

Right after the beautiful rendering of "On the Wings" she sang "You
are my song." Before she sang, she told the crowd that she was going
to sing the theme song of her first movie... Everyone started to
yell "Pik Pak Boom!" She said, "Hindi yun! Ayan nanaman kayo, Pik Pak
Boom nanaman! Hindi yun!" (Not that! There you go again! It's not Pik
Pak Boom!) Then they all go, "Elvis and James! Untouchable Family!!"
She laughed and said "Hindi nga yun eh!" She said it was from her
first movie with Christopher De Leon. And the crowd goes wild...
While Regine was singing, I noticed that most of the audience were
singing along, right on the Chorus, Regine pointed her mic to the
audience. She appeared to be enjoying the moment, seeing her adoring
fans singing her songs.

After the song, she started a spiel about how she is now not just the
Songbird, but is now a full-fledged Best Actress!!! And not just a
Best Actress, but also... A Box Office Queen!!! It was so hilarious!
With matching emote-emote and extras (Manolo of the Opera being one
of them) crowning her and giving her Award. I can't even start giving
you a full picture of it!

Then she sang "Ikaw/Pangako/Kailangan Ko'y Ikaw Medley" to the
delight of the audience. Right above her again was the video screen
showing some scenes from all her movies combined. It was magical. The
audience echoing her spectacular voice as she sang.

Then she sang her HUGE HIT, Dadalhin. Again, the crowd just couldn't
help but sing along with her. She, again, held out the mic, enjoying
the moment. She never ceases to amaze me with her vocal prowess!!!
Indeed!

Then, the highlight of MY evening... Regine sang "Sa Aking Pag-Iisa
Remix" with matching MTV right above her. It was the complete Music
Video!!! Sexy!!! Woohoo!!! And the voice!!! She danced during the
later "remix" part of the song... Utterly Fabulous!!!

This made me want to curl up and CRY... Regine dedicated her next
song, "Love Me Again" to her parents, for being there for her since
the beginning and for standing right by her. Awww...

Rex's favorite part (I'll bet) was when RV sang "Follow the Sun."
This was her photo-op portion. And she was standing just a mere 2
feet away from me when my camera stalled! Darnit! Heehee! But I had a
blast in that portion. She started doing diva-poses and everything,
making everyone roar in laughter!

To end her concert, she sang the most breath-taking rendition
of "What Kind of Fool." I wanted to stand up and give her a standing
ovation the whole song!!! Unfortunately, not everyone in the crowd
were as enthusiastic as I was, as they were keeping their seats
warm!!! Sheesh! People!!! It's the most wonderful performance of
Regine that I've ever seen!!! Where's the love??? She then, exited
thanking everyone who came.

Of course, that was not the end of the show... She returned after the
crowd yelled for more. She said, "Kayo naman, O! May sakit na nga ako
eh. May ubo't sipon na nga ako saka minamalat ako, More pa!!! Sige na
nga..." Then she sang a SPECTACULARLY arranged "I Don't Wanna Miss A
Thing." Can I say wonderful?!? Oh my goodness!!!

Truly the Songbird never fails to deliver the BEST Performances
EVER!!! This won't be the last of the series I'll be watching, that's
for sure! A whole lot of cheers for the Songbird!!! She truly
deserves to REIGNE!!! My hats off to you, Regine! And a hearty
congratulations to Raul for the wonderful arrangements he
painstakenly did for the Songbird's repertoire! Bravo to the both of
you, the Opera and the band! Kudos also to Maxi-Media! Again...
Wonderful!!!

Ive watched the concert too and i find it too bitin! something is missing really in a regine concert. ive been going to her concert hundred of times and i must say that this is the simplest one. not too good repertoire...her milestone songs are missing! like in your eyes, and im telling you, youll never walk alone etc. no wonder i felt the audience dissatisfaction after the show. Reg and maxi-media should be very careful next time. her past concerts usually takes 2 1/2 hours. this one, 1 hour and 55 minutes including the encore. im a bit dissapointed. my friends who also watched it on a different dates have the same sentiments.
