It was the most spectacular, ergo brilliant, singular performance I've ever seen from her, or any other artist for that matter. Not to mention, her voice was not even in tip-top shape.
I won't give you the details of her repertoire, but every rendition she gave was the best I've ever witnessed from her--with particular mention of "Love Me Again", "On The Wings of Love", "Narito Ako", "Dadalhin" and "What Kind of Fool I Am."
She had thunderous applause every single time she ends a number. The crowd was in approval all the time, perhaps mindless of where she gets all the power and control given her condition.
Sadly, she had to cut her performance right after "What Kind...". I wouldn't know how many songs are still left unsung.
Her voice is close to cracking during the high notes, but she's able to pull it off superbly every time. In the encore, she already begged off to sing "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing", and instead gamely gave in to requests from the crowd to sing chorus lines of "Runaway", "To Reach You", "Only Hope", etc.
That December 14 night topped all performances I've seen from her. She really gave her all in the short-listed repertoire, knowing she can't complete it entirely. But despite her condition, her vocal power was relentless with great control and flexibility.
The experience is still fresh in my mind, and I can't wait to see her again on the 21st and 28th. If she's gonna do even better, I don't know if there's another highfalutin other than "She will forever be the greatest". Period.
