I don't think it has to do with any of that.
Regine already said she doesn't like love scenes
with much younger ( and maybe immature) actors.
She was quoted as saying kissing him felt like incest.
(lol!)

From what I've heard, and a lot of people probably heard the same thing, that Ding Dong Dantes will only play a supporting role not the lead role opposite Regine.
Ding Dong (funny name) will play a younger brother of a friend of Regine's character. Ding Dong's character will have a big crush on Regine's character.
