Since I been planning a Lani Misalucha fan site soon I been
reading articles about her. And I got several of her fans
who write to me. So we have been having a few discussions.
They are also Regine fans. I'll be posting some articles
following this thread. Because we are begining to take some
notice of what appears to be some kind of pattern in the
ways she is being promoted.
You ever ask the question:
What came first- The chicken or the egg?
In Lani's case it was a full grown chicken
and now it seems her career is in the process
of back-tracking to show it came from an egg.
But in reality, she was either the product of being a test-tube
baby or she was clone from the DNA of several divas like Kuh,
Regine, Jaya, Varga and Dessa. Because she seems to have
started from the top. And is now doing what most artists
have to do first in order to get close to where she is now!

Lani On Stage: A Crossover Special.
The six-night concert series is set at Onstage, Greenbelt Mall,
Makati City. It will be produced by radio station 105.1 FM Crossover
which was also behind Lani’s triumphant Araneta Coliseum show
November of last year.
Although she has been in the business for almost five years,
Lani has, ironically, 'never' done a concert series.
The idea had long been talked about but never pushed through
until Crossover 105.1 FM decided it was high time for the industry’s
well-admired diva to make her concert series debut.
Everyone agrees that it is long overdue.

Long overdue??! I had no idea anyone could make it to the top
of the music industry without even having one!! Much less
be considered a big star without having hits songs to support
the claim! After all, there are godzillion great singers all over
the country. What made Lani the exception? Interesting, no?
I personally can conclude a possible answer . .
Lani owes her big leap to her management team. She is
without a doubt the product of the most incredible but
believable hype in the history of our music business.
Considering she got there without a love team. A movie.
A hit song. A dog, cat or good singing partner. Being
a married singer. In her 30's. This was not your usual
way to start a music star. (Kind of nice too.)
The only difference is she probably is as good as the hype
is pushing her to be. That's the good news. The other side
of the coin is a question.. was this proper? To be a star
out of the blue before one paid her real dues? Ok. She paid
her dues. I meant to say be compared to hit makers like Kuh
and Regine Velasquez without real hit songs? To be considered
like them without having as many albums and concerts. That
concert she did at the Dome last year is practically her
only claim to fame besides that song fest she won in. Well,
Dessa won several of those too. The point being that her
rise should be a interesting study for music watchers,
shakers and insiders someday. While Regine Velasquez
is admired and loved because she is considered 'the real
thing.' As an artist and a person the public could love.
Are singers like Lani going to be the future? Because
if this was a science fiction movie then Lani would be
the generic clone created to be all the big female stars
in one!

And I added a few of my own:
Why isn't the Viva official coming forward about the Viva
incident? And should that Viva official be held accountable
for being irresponsible? But what if the Viva official says
it never happened? What if Viva already knew Lani was going
to have that interview mentioning the Mcknight show? Did
Regine Velasquez get the clue too?

Subject: PROJECT GRABBING???
When i came across Cinema One's (on the cable channel) interview of Lani
Misalucha, i couldn't help but be perplexed and confused. Lani said that
there was a "project grabbing" regarding the Brian McKnight concert last
February 14 and 15. Lani said that the concert was offered to her and she
and Ronnie Henares just couldn't comprehend and were shocked why the project
went to somebody else (to Regine). Lani said that she is disgusted but
later reiterated that she's "not mad." I observe that while Lani was
talking, she is still in the state of DISGUST. This is my personal
opinion...
Why only now? When the concert was being promoted, I can still remember how
Lani, in exclamation said in SOP, shouting actually "Two for the night with
Brian McKnight!" with all smile pa. Probably, Lani was one of the many
artists that were considered to pair with Brian McKnight. After so many
evaluations, of course, a choice was made... but again, why only now? Is
Lani using Regine to regain her popularity? Lani is not as hot as last year,
so?... Strategy lang yan!!! Question lang... nag-gold o platinum na ba
albums ni Lani???
