chinese-filipino-korean black dog eater, honey, pay attention! read! my post clearly seeks to question manang camila's statement:
"I know most of your phone votes for the Top 12 Finalists slot came from Filipino Americans on the U.S. Mainland, not from Hawaii's residents as your stepfather James West claims."
How does she know what ethnicity voted for Camile? Do you know? Obviously not! You cannot tell what votes came from Filipinos, Chinese, Korean, whatever race. You CAN tell how much votes came from what part of the country, and it's stated again in our local news that 1 to 1.5 million votes that went to Camile came from Hawai‘i. Again, we here in Hawai‘i are proud, regardless of her ethnic extraction whether she is yellow, green, orange, or Filipino. She represents not only the Filipino community, but my homeland, Hawai‘i, as a whole. WE LOVE HER!!
P.S. I read Lois Yamanaka's book "Blu's Hanging". Very strong book. It can be very offensive, especially to Filipinos. I was a student of hers when she was a teacher in my middle school. And I love Frank Delima! His racial jokes can be offensive, but we who were born and raised in Hawai‘i understand his jokes and laugh! I notice that Filipinos, especially those who were not born and raised in multicultural Hawai‘i have no understanding and are easily offended. But what does this have to do with questioning Manang Camila's opinion regarding the number of votes for Camile Velasco? E 'olelo mai ke 'olu'olu! (Please explain!)
