SEX SHAME AND THE CATHOLIC CHURCH...80 PRIESTS ACCUSED OF CHILD ABUSE IN BOSTON.That is the HEADLINE of NEWSWEEK, March 4, 2002. Talk shows here in America are talking about this, too. How many more priests are there like John Geoghan,David Holley, James Porter, John Hanlon, Rudolph Kos (to name a few)? "For years, Boston's Cardinal kept on priests who had been accused of molesting children. All the Cardinal did was transfer them to another Diocese to molest some more. This Cardinal and these priests are to be put away to life without parole just like the others. Now Catholics across America are confronting similar scandals and questioning the secretive culture of the church." People want Cardinal Law, who is a senior member of the U.S. Roman Catholic hierarchy to be punished for the cover ups he did for these priests. In his Homily, he gave what seemed like his umpteenth apology for the scandal surrounding Geoghan. BOOOOO!!! Said the people rallying against the Cardinal. In my opinion, the Cardinal ought to be punished. There is no difference between the school Principal who covers up such incedious crime committed by one of his teachers and Cardinal Law covering up these priests who are so devious not only in their thoughts but their actions, as well. The principal was put to jail and they should put the Cardinal to trial. No more excuses. After 80 priests? Give me a break.
