The Ninth Race appears from the future as a sort of deus ex machina temporis and summarizes what would have happened in the following cycle, knowing full well that by doing so it is changing the past. This ensures that the summarized future does *not* come to pass, thus breaking the big Cycle for good and making some kind of vague statement about predestination versus free will.
