Subject: Former Poly Ace Pitching for GIANTS

Only a year after leaving Cal Poly, former Murstang pitching ace Kevin Correia has made the big leagues.

Assigned to mop-up duty in last night's blow out loss to the Rockies, Corriea pitched 1.3 innings, and gave up 1 run on 2 hits. He also struckout 1.

Following the game, former Mustang pitcher and Giant announcer Mike Krukow, voted Corriea player of the game and mentioned Poly several times. When Giant announcer Jon Miller kidded Krukow about Cal Poly having a baseball team, Krukow responded by telling Miller not to mess with the Green and Gold and reminded Miller that Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith was also a Mustang.

Props to Corriea for making the big show in less than a year.

Go Stangs! Go Giants!
