For the record, until last week's series against Long Beach, Riverside was ranked 18th nationally after beating #1Fullerton 3 straight the prior week. If Riverside does well this weekend in their final series, they're a lock.

Poly took two of three from Riverside and the Mustangs' one loss in that series came in extra innings. Additionally, though the Stangs were swept by Fullerton and Long Beach, they were short handed during those series with Tyler Fitch, Scott Anderson, Billy Saul and one refief pitcher injured. Prior to those injuries, the Stangs were playing pretty well.

There's an outside chance for Poly but they'll have to sweep UCSB and take two from Stanford.
