You're correct about not having someone lined up to replace Mooch. But I believe they did have someone in mind when he was contacted by the Bucs. (York, a Golden Dome insider, found out Mooch contacted Notre Dame, not the other way around. That's one reason they let him go.)

Does anyone know if the 49ers play the Lions next season?

In checking the media guide, we played Montana State in 1960, the year of the fatal plane crash. They beat us 22-18. After the crash, Cal Poly didn't travel out of state for a football game until playing the Montana Grizzlies NINE YEARS later...Losing in Missoula 14-0. We didn't play Montana State again until Joe Harper's 1972 Mustangs spanked the Bobcats here 34-7. So, it appears Erickson never played against us.
