I thought last Sunday would serve as a wake-up call for the ladies, but apparently not. They showed coach in the locker room at halftime telling the girls that they were flat-footed in the first half, and they continued that effort into the second. It seemed like they thought they would just be able to turn it on at the end, but they never were able to get any separation, and way too much dribbling on that last possesion in regulation.

Well, now we don't have to worry about a loss to Hartford costing them their national ranking. That will be gone. I figure they will drop to about 35th with maybe 20 points in the AP. They might be one of those one point teams in the coaches poll. Now they have to worry about remaining as the top seed in the MAAC. A 6 seed os now a pipe dream. If they win the MAAC Tournament, the best they could hope for now would be a 9, but an 11 would probably be more advantageous.

It looks like I may go for the ESPNU trifecta tonight. With both the Red Fox teams losing, and my alma mater, Cleveland State coming out flat as a pancake against Youngstown State. Unless they pick up the pace in the second half, I'm going to be a VERY unhappy camper tonight.

I actually thought they looked disinterested in the locker room video.

The Sweet 16 Team heeded a regular season wakeup call administered by Loyola, lets see if this edition got the message.

Still, what they have achieved with a bunch of freshman and sophomores logging big minutes is remarkable. All the pressure is off now and hopefully they can go about their business for the rest of the year. The young kids have a lot of learning yet to do.
