Often a coach will "encourage" underachieving players that it might be in their best interests to transfer elsewhere. Especinally if a coach has a recruit in the wings that might be more productive. Not saying it is going to happen, but I wouldn't be suprised if it did.

That is a path Marist should not follow. If you offer a player a scholarship, honor it as long as the player wants to stay unless he embarrasses the school legally or something like that.

Carter wanted to play and that is why he transferred. This was the right thing for Brady and Carter to do. At the end of the day, however, Carter could have stayed at Marist and kept the scholarship.
