Once he and the Latvians moved on the talent pool has been pretty shallow. They have had some stars, Manzer, Menty, Dooley and Burrell, but not much else to support them.
Whether that is her and the staff, or just a lack of resources, who knows.
Burrell's dismissal was devastating. The kid was a legit POY candidate. She was a true scorer that hit a medium range jumper and slash to the basket with equal efficiency. A superior athlete she could blanket her opponent on defense too. I am sure they made recruiting decisions based on her being in the line up, so this turn of events could be a double whammy for them.
Don't think Siena has any interest in investing new resources in WBB, nor do the fans, and Castelli must be very well paid. The admins seem to be very fond of her, and since any additional bucks would probably have to come from the head coach budget line, it's gonna be status quo in Loudenville on the ladies side.
