In reply to: TG28 's message, "Poll predictions" on 21:18:32 01/11/09 Sun

# 24 Vanderbilt defeated the Lady Vols and Georgia this past week. Agree on Iowa St. but don't think they beat two ranked teams. Ga Tech lost a game, but won't drop out and South Dakota State's loss to Oakland (who is pretty good) will give the writers an excuse to drop them out. I think the Foxes stay where they are, best case, they go up to 24. Great job by them this week, but their RPI and SOS both took a hit despite winning two game by 89 points. The MAAC looks to be down this year.

OOPS, you're right. All of those teams only had one loss. It was Wake Forest, breathing down our necks that lost two. Plus, I think I assumed that Vandy would have two losses as they had Tennessee scheduled for Sunday. The win vs. the Lady Vols will keep them ahead of the Foxes.

OOPS again! I just saw that Wake lost again today, to Virginia, so they will stay behind the ladies. DePaul had a quality win vs. # 19 Pittsburgh, but they only had 8 points in last week's poll. Then again, the Panthers now have two losses last week, so they should lose some ground.

Oldfox, Iowa State's wins were vs. #24 Vanderbilt, and #21 Okla. State. Those are two ranked teams, so that's why I predicted they would pass Marist. What's up with Summit's crew, anyhow?

so that should have reflected in the current poll, no?

They beat somebody called IPFW and then Oklahoma State this week.

Regardless, your prediction should hold and Iowa St. should vault over Marist.. That is a very nice stretch, especially since Vandy beat Tenn.

I actually felt the Lady Vols would have a tougher go of it than it is turning out to be. They have 8 new playes on the team and she plays a very tough schedule. A win over Stanford isn't too bad in the midst of a "rebuilding" year.

The team that is scary good in UConn. It seems that GA has made Storrs "the" program of choice for the top recruits, year after year. I read that Stephanie Dolson of Minisink Valley, a school in Orange County right across the river from Marist, the consensus #1 center in the Country has verballed to UConn.
