Hard to build any long term success if just filling in with 2 year guys consistently. Here and there is fine with me, but I would hope this doesn't become the norm such what has gone on at Loyola.

I agree. One or two on a roster isn't bad though, especially in the situation they are in. That will get the program back on top and will help with recruiting. There is no reason Marist shouldn't be able to recruit with anybody in the MAAC, including Siena. I don't mind one or two transfers if they are all league type players. They can ease the kids into the mix and still win. I think they'll be better than people think this year and challenge for the title in 09..

I will never have a problem with a 3 year X-fer Devizen (who we still think we have for 3 years) and if not mistaken Harris would also have three years. Hey if players want to play their freshman year at Texas Tech, Virginia, and other BCS schools to get ready for MAAC play fine by me.

But those types of transfers are rare I believe. There also are many cases where academics and character are probably an issue when you get a consistent flow of transfers. I still would rather build with 4 year guys and fill in a spot here and there with a transfer. The McCroskey thing was stupid and I did say that even before the year started, not second guessing. It was an obvious ploy to try to pad the record before fleeing.

I think Harris would have 2 because he played in 9 out of 33 games in his second year. I would take him because he seems like a real good kid and would solidify the front line to go along with the talented backcourt. If he was a troublemaker, I'd nix it. Since he appears to be a great kid and would help greatly, I'd take him. Let's face it, other than the real stars, a 4 yr player is only used for 3 yrs anyway. MAAC inside players are usually not much of a factor until their second year. At least we'd get 2 good years.
