I know its nice and all to be kind to your team. But those lines like, "They play with heart, and don't quit" is a line that we don't want to be using. That is the loser teams motto:). At least they tried. I think Marist will turn this around, but gonna be very hard in this new league with the travel and the level of competition they are stepping up to.

Hey, I could call them a bunch of f'in losers, but that's not going to help. If there's anything consistent about the team is that they don't quit. I'd contend that that's the foundation for a winning team.

As for turning it around, when? Have you looked at the pioneer league, San Diego, Dayton, Jacksonville, etc. While I appreciated the commitment to the FB program, I have not seen the commitment to winning.

Dayton and San diego are the class of that conference with Morehead State making a run now and again. this was posted on anygivensaturday.com (1-AA football message board).

- As a conference, the PFL has a losing record (16-17) vs D-II teams in the past 4 seasons.

- Half of the PFL has had an overall losing record vs. sub-D-I teams in the past 4 seasons.

- Only Dayton and San Diego have not lost more than 1 game vs. a sub-D-I opponent in the past 4 seasons.

- Just 4 PFL teams have an overall winning record vs. sub-D-I opponents during this period.

PFL Record vs. Sub-D-I teams (2004-07)

PFL (49-27)
16-17 vs. D-II
18-4 vs D-III
15-6 vs NAIA

----
Butler (5-10)
2-6 vs D-II
3-3 vs D-III
0-1 vs. NAIA

Davidson (4-4)
3-4 vs D-II
10 vs D-III

Dayton (6-0)
3-0 vs D-II
2-0 vs D-III
1-0 vs NAIA

Drake (10-2)
2-0 vs D-II
3-1 vs D-III
5-1 vs NAIA

Jacksonville (3-3)
2-2 vs D-II
1-1 vs. NAIA

Morehead St (4-3)
3-3 vs D-II
1-0 vs NAIA

San Diego (8-1)
1-0 vs D-II
2-0 vs D-III
5-1 vs NAIA

Valparaiso (9-4)
0-2 vs D-II
7-0 vs D-III
2-2 vs NAIA

id argue our schedule will likely be easier when we enter the PFL bc we arent loading the schedule with Patriot League teams and NEC teams that are only going to get better as the increased scholarship limits take effect. we will be playing programs on equal footing with us for the most part.

I agree that dropping Lafayette for Campbell equals a W, but we'll probably still have a couple PL and/or NEC games on the schedule. I think we'll end up mid of the road in Pioneer League, as Davidson and Jacksonville are good teams.
