Dear Robert,

I have developed a project which does something very similar, OCR'ing a number label on a

page to have automatically index the document.

Envision is used to scan, then extract the particular area with the crop transform. For

OCR'ing I used the Tiger OCR engine, www.ocr.com. The engine is very fast and relatively

accurate (less then textbridge), but the support from the company was unresponsive and of no

help at all to integrate with Delphi. I had to convert header files and do additional work

to call the DLL. TextBridge probably offers an ActiveX which may make development easier,

but deployment more complex. FineReader was another OCR engine which looked interesting; I

URL is <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.abbyyusa.com/">http://www.abbyyusa.com/</a>

Best regards,

Michel
