Pre-season is a 'trade off' to the AFLPA to stop them
running to the Courts over restraint of Trade, or whatever.

Gives their 'clients' a second chance.

Hardly stacks up, when one notes how little it's used these days.
One in - all in would make Draft Day very interesting
