Trent Croad was All-Australian in 2005 - quite a time ago. He's 29 next year. I know Hawthorn people who would love to replace him given the opportunity - hardly a ringing endorsement for him at this point in his career.

Gilham is serviceable at the moment, but is like early-Prestigiacomo - you just pray he won't be ripped apart. He might become an elite defender, but he's not there at the moment.

Campbell Brown is being used as a small forward.

I don't know who their other key defensive prospects are - short of asking Roughhead to pinch-hit, or something like that.

Then that would support the original point I made - I think they're suspect in the key defensive stocks, which is all I was trying to say.
