I agree Hawthorn have gun forwards, gun mids, and good ruck prospects. I think the defense is shonky, and if you can get another side with two good key-forwards and a gameplan that delivers it in there quickly (a la Brisbane in their prime, or even Hawthorn themselves), they're suddenly going to look much more vulnerable than a side with good key defenders (e.g. Geelong).

The 'jumping the gun' remark was in regards to evaluating Hawthorn. Started with Melbourne (wooden spooners) in another thread, and would've worked the way up the ladder weekly - not jumped to the premiers.
