Faz hadnt stepped of the line, but in any case it is NOT play on until the ump calls play on. Not evolved in initial contest holds up player. Mandatory 50m by the current rules.
You may not like it, like hands in the back. But by the rules the umpire MUST award 50m. It was there. Happens almost every game, week in , week out. NOT controversial in any way.
Some people just have a massive distortion field when looking at anything collingwood related.
Personally there are a number of things I would like to see changed about this rule. I dislike how players who are way over the mark ( they pull up for their momentum) and then play on, a player could have claimed them but if they did it would be 50m, dont like that aspect but it would make the rule harder and more subjective, claiming a player that has played on before the ump calls it opens things up, but leaves 50m if you get it wrong.
