To say that the university will not allow them to spend funds on the OT program doesn't seem like enough of a reason for them to appoint. All the rest of the locals have to work out issues regarding venue, funding, etc. etc. etc. so I think all of them should have to operate under the same guidelines. But, they didn't ask me what I thought so I guess they can do it as they please. Also, at State, both ladies carried themselves well and were well-liked by the other OT's and Miss Contestants so I don't imagine they've taken anything for granted where their "duties" are concerned. From what I understand both ladies are Honor students and can actually multi-task. In other words, they can put on their OT crown and sit at a preliminary pageant and represent their title AND walk across a stage a High Point in a swimsuit and evening gown. And since there are no preliminaries on November 14th, they shouldn't have any "duties" to attend to. My suggestion is that if you "really" want to know, contact them or the State directly instead of "gossiping", oops I meant "guessing" about what they can do. -- No name, 04:00:33 11/03/09 Tue If the crown is good enough to win on the night of winning, then it should be good enough and respected enough to represent until the end. What you have here are girls who have a different purpose for the crown than what was intended. I think admission is free for them. ..and if they can't hold a teen pageant right aling with the Big Miss pageant because they can't have non-students up there, then why are they allowed to have the teen and princess queens entertain. While the position is "appointed", it is a competition in every sense of the word. You have to compete on paper and video, and I believe, harder to get the actual appointment since talent is considered a major factor in the choosing. There are normally several applicants who apply, but only one chosen: just like in a "real" pageant. Instead of an applicant "presenting" themselves on-stage, they "present" themselves on paper and video. At least in a "staged" pageant, there is an actual interview to help decide who receives the appointment. It's official! TT4C (www.tteens4christ.org) is the official sponsor of the Miss Motor Speedway Pageant�

Do you need scholarships or assistance paying pageant entry fees? Miss Motor Speedway� & Miss Teen Motor Speedway� assist contestants who need assistance paying pageant entry fees. The Miss and Teen Division will receive a $1,000 cash prize and additional prizes. Looking for a Miss and Teen delegate from each state. This is an open pageant.

The Miss Motor Speedway Pageant� will be hosted in all 50 states beginning in 2010, to assist America's pageant contestants with receiving scholarships, and entry fee assistance to any pageant system.

The National "Miss Motor Speedway Pageant�" will be held at Vanderbilt University Student Life Center in Nashville, TN on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Contestants are encouraged and welcome to represent their state. The Miss Motor Speedway Pageant� is a volunteer and member of the NASCAR Foundation

Subject: Photographer and 2009 Miss NC judge - Russell Adair
Author: No name [Edit]	Date Posted: 13:58:16 10/26/09 Mon Russell Adair is at the Trauma Center at Richland Memorial Hospital from being beaten badly from a home invasion with one side of his face covered in stitches, the other side swollen shut from a pistol whip as the back also. The robber tried to get Russell to put his hands behind his back and Russell fought back while the the other robber was casing the house to steal. Russell's roommate woke up from the noise and came out and the robbers were startled that another person was in the house and fled. Russell ID'ed one of the guys from photos. If ALL goes well, he could be out in about 3 days, but who wants to go back home to where it started? Even if you don't know him, please pray for his healing. He is breathing on his own and his mom/dad will be there today. He can't see visitors except family. He's in a trauma unit but might be moved to a normal room in few days if he improves. Russell is a proud/private man and might not want ...anyone to see him in his condition. The robbers used Russell's phone this morning when the police had set a trap on the phone and caught them. Russell knows that everyone is thinking of him and so appreciates it but I think he needs to think this through alone... and accept the reality of what he has been through before he has visitors. Can qualify due to where you reside/work - must have been there for 6 months. Can qualify due to where you go to school - must have completed one full semester. If competing in an open, you must have been a NC resident for 6 months. You could indeed be a part-time student (or no student at all for that matter) and qualify if you have lived in the same place for 6 months (or in the geographic locale of the closed prelim). Jr. Miss Ham and Yam Queen Katie Strain is holding a community service project called "Movies for the Military". She will be collecting used and new movies (Dvds and VHSs, microwave popcorn, candy (hard), and individual powder drink mixes. Katie's goal is to collect 500 items before Christmas! We would be willing to come by and pick items up if you live near by, meet you half way, or you can ship your items to 523 S Wilma Street - Angier, NC 27501. You can also email strain_tracy@hotmail.com if you have any questions. Katie and her sister Kayli will also be visitng the Greater Sampson County Pageant today if anyone would like to bring items there. Please help put a smile on a Soldiers face!!
