Subject: From contract (click in ) says until my successor is selected or appointed. Basically, people just don't care to honor their signatures/word.

In reply to: 's message, "Contracts state 365 days or until crown successor. So she should have served 365 days." on 11:15:33 10/28/09 Wed

If I am not selected as Miss ________________________ Outstanding Teen at
the State Finals or Miss America’s Outstanding Teen at the National Finals, I will continue to hold the
title of Miss ____________________________Outstanding Teen until my successor is selected or
appointed. I agree that during my service in that role I will not associate in any way with, promote, or
become a contestant or participant in any other national or international competition or preliminary
competition of a similar nature to the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Program.

Does the UNCP OT sign the contract? I have never understood why they cannot have a separate committee (still associated with MUNCP) to hold the OT pageant. To say that the university will not allow them to spend funds on the OT program doesn't seem like enough of a reason for them to appoint. All the rest of the locals have to work out issues regarding venue, funding, etc. etc. etc. so I think all of them should have to operate under the same guidelines. But, they didn't ask me what I thought so I guess they can do it as they please. Doesn't really do much good to question anyway. No name14:23:03 10/28/09 Wed

I imagine that both ladies were intelligent enough to "make sure" what they were "able" and "not able" to do "under contract" BEFORE applying to USA. Also, at State, both ladies carried themselves well and were well-liked by the other OT's and Miss Contestants so I don't imagine they've taken anything for granted where their "duties" are concerned. From what I understand both ladies are Honor students and can actually multi-task. In other words, they can put on their OT crown and sit at a preliminary pageant and represent their title AND walk across a stage a High Point in a swimsuit and evening gown. And since there are no preliminaries on November 14th, they shouldn't have any "duties" to attend to. My suggestion is that if you "really" want to know, contact them or the State directly instead of "gossiping", oops I meant "guessing" about what they can do.No name04:00:33 11/03/09 Tue
